DO YOU KNOW WHAT EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION PROJECTS CONTRIBUTE TO THE CLASSROOM? FROM THE UNIVERSIDAD EUROPEA ONLINE WE TELL YOU ABOUT IT.

The Educational Innovation goes beyond applying new technologies in the classroom, also tries to implement learning methodologies, for this reason, namely design and develop projects Educational Innovation (IPPs) in schools is a key element and key for teachers.

In Spain, all the autonomous communities have educational innovation projects, which helps to encourage schools, both public, subsidized and private, to introduce educational innovation in their classrooms, this implies changes in the study programs, in the educational processes and the application of ICT.

For this reason, we tell you the 4 advantages of implementing Educational Innovation Projects:

  • The PIEs within the classroom improve the teaching and learning processes in the different educational stages with the help of ICT.
  • They help to incorporate changes related to the methodology of the center, with active methodologies such as gamification or the development of emotional intelligence in students.
  • They give greater and better use to the technological applications available to the educational center.
  • And they help to use social media as an educational tool to connect with students.

There are already many educational centers that have educational innovation projects and with which, in addition, they have obtained national awards. For example, one of the winning projects for the Infant and Primary stage was “Piña 3.0: School Press, Radio and Television”. The objective of the project was to improve the oral and written language of children through a means that motivated them, thus achieving promoting reading and audiovisual comprehension when reading or listening to news. Another winning project for the Secondary stage was the project ” A window to the universe”with the aim of creating an urban astronomical observatory within the educational center. With this project they got the students to plan work sessions with a telescope, data analysis and exhibitions with images created by themselves.

From the European University we also have an Educational Innovation project , the XR Lab (eXtended Reality Lab) , whose objective was to research and develop didactic resources based on virtual and augmented reality that help students to learn in an immersive and close environment to his profession. Being a finalist in the III Edition of the Best Management Practices Award 2019.
